Our Philosophy

We at Wrightchoice provide exciting innovative sessions designed to ensure players have plenty of contact time with the ball. Our belief is that technical ability can be developed in players from a very young age and we structure our work around this viewpoint. Our staff offer a variety of sessions, which develop balance & control, co-ordination, dribbling technique, passing and technique. We believe in encouraging creativity from players on the pitch.

Jonnie Clarke – Programme Manager & Head Coach

Job Role

Jonnie is responsible for the hands-on organisation of the Wrightchoice CSA projects and is the most qualified coach within the organisation. In addition to being the lead coach within the Wrightchoice projects, Jonnie has the duty of organising the teams and liaising with parents to ensure the well being of our young members. On match days Jonnie manages the Under 13’s, works alongside Fabian Coultress with the Under 16’s and is responsible for the preparation of players for 1st team games.

Personal History

I have been coaching at Wrightchoice for three years now. I started with just working with the youngsters at our community night, which runs on a Friday evening. As time went on, I became responsible for one of the teams on a Saturday playing in the Hicks Development League, which was really satisfying. Therefore, when I was asked to be head coach on a full time basis I had no hesitation in taking up the role.

I have played the game at a good level when I was at a young age representing Reading and Berkshire schools, playing for Portsmouth until the age of 15 and also had England trials in which I got to the last sixty.

I am really passionate about the game and I feel fortunate to have the chance to coach the youngsters at Wrightchoice as I find this highly rewarding.

I really enjoy working with our staff, parents and dedicated volunteers to make sure that we continue to provide valuable activities for young people to enjoy in the community.
