Wrightchoice Community Sports Association is a voluntary organization based in Reading, Berkshire. The organization was set up to raise the attainment and achievement of disadvantaged children and young people by providing quality sports training and skills development, and promoting education and healthy living.
The founders and management committee of Wrightchoice are individuals from the local Reading community who have a passion for sport and a recognized expertise in football. Concerned about the continuing lack of attainment and achievement of children in the most deprived wards in Reading, particularly those from the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, they developed a mini soccer project to provide safe, constructive activities outside of school hours, to use a professional approach to encourage discipline and promote self-confidence. The programme also strives to encourage young people to attain in education, and also teaches them how to look after their bodies. It enables parents to support their child/ren in a healthy and holistic way in step with their natural physical and mental development and promotes a football-life balance.
